Stewardship 2020: Caring for the Past in an Uncertain Future

The League's 2020 conference was originally scheduled to take place on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the closure of the university, we have been forced to cancel this year's conference. The information on this page is here as a reference.

Sponsorship and Exhibitor Opportunities

Registrations due May 1, 2020

You are invited to join over 200 museum and history professionals from across Connecticut as a business sponsor or exhibitor at CLHO's annual conference. By sponsoring the conference, or reserving a table in our exhibit hall, you get face-to-face contact with the people involved in keeping history alive.

Our conference attracts individuals representing the museum and library world in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Sponsoring our conference is the most effective way to get your business noticed by CLHO’s constituency. That's over 1100 potential customers working in the heritage field, plus the collective purchasing power of the southern New England heritage community!

Call for Session Proposals

Proposal submissions are now closed. The committee will be reviewing submissions in mid-February. We invite proposals for sessions engaging with the many ways we steward our places, collections, and communities. Most conference sessions are 50 minutes. To ensure time for questions and discussion, we recommend no more than three presentations per session.

Our complete call for sessions is available online. You can also download a PDF of the call for proposals for easy printing.

We prefer submissions of complete 50-minute sessions comprising two or three presentations. We also accept proposals for individual presentations, with the understanding that the conference committee may combine these into a session.

To submit a session proposal, please read the call for proposals and fill out the online form. You will need to submit:

  • The name and contact information for your session coordinator
  • Your session's title
  • A brief abstract of your session (50 words or less) for the conference program
  • Name, title, affiliation, and a brief bio for each presenter
  • Your session's format (panel, roundtable, workshop, etc.)
  • The level for which your session is intended (introductory, intermediate, advanced)
  • A description (250 words or less) of your session, identifying its main objectives, how you will be addressing them, its relation to the conference theme, and its intended audience.

Proposals are due by January 31, 2020.

2020 Annual Conference Cancelled

Due to the coronavirus, we will be unable to hold our 2020 Annual Conference on June 1 at Central Connecticut State University as planned.

We believe our theme of "Stewardship 2020: Caring for the Past in an Uncertain Future" has proven itself to be incredibly important, given the current world situation.

So, we will be transforming our conference into a new webinar series we're calling CLHO Summer School. We'll be bringing you the knowledge and expertise of our conference presenters on a range of topics relevant to our current moment.

More information will be available soon!
