Speakers Bureau Listing

One benefit of becoming a member of the Connecticut League of History Organizations is access to our Speakers and Programs Resources. This comprehensive list includes book resources, living history groups and individuals, musicians and performers, slide programs and traveling exhibits, speakers and workshops and seminars. The listings include a plethora of interesting presenters from Colonial Cuisine to the history of the Merritt Parkway.

We are, however, always looking for additional speakers and presenters. Keep us in mind when you know of a good speaker, living history group, historical craft person, musical organization or other historical program resource.

We are especially interested in finding speakers on Connecticut River floods, hurricanes, Connecticut railroad history, Connecticut industries (especially bicycles, telephones, pewter and silver), amusement parks, personages, legends and local history.

If you would like to recommend someone as a qualified presenter to be included in the CLHO Speakers and Program Resources listing please use the form below and mail to the CT League of History Organizations, 940 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06517-4002.

John Savage, 1525 East Putnam Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT 06870.
Phone: (203) 637-2816. E-mail: j-a-savage@mindspring.com.

John Savage’s half hour presentation combines live talk with video about the famous ride made by Major General Israel Putnam from Greenwich to Stamford during the American Revolution. After the British invasion of Greenwich, General Putnam raced to Stamford for reinforcements for his woefully outnumbered troops.

Please inform us when you find good speakers – send information to the CLHO office.
