CLHO Colleague Circles

With the legislative session beginning, now is the perfect time to cultivate relationships that will ensure state and federal support for history and culture in our communities. Join staff from Connecticut Humanities and CLHO to learn more about history advocacy, including:

  • How to reach out to your legislators and help them understand what you do and why it matters
  • Current issues and proposed legislation relevant to the history community
  • Resources for how to make the case for history and the work you do
  • Upcoming advocacy events in our state and region

We'll have with us Jason Mancini, Executive Director of Connecticut Humanities, who will give us updates on what's happening at the state and federal levels; Kevin Graff of Graff Public Solutions, who will offer a lobbyist's tips for engaging in history advocacy; and Scott Wands, Manager of Grants and Programs at Connecticut Humanities, and Amrys Williams, Executive Director of CLHO, who will share key dates and resources for kickstarting your own outreach.

We'll also have plenty of time for you to share your stories of reaching out to your representatives and local officials, and get answers to your questions about effective advocacy strategies.
